An up close and personal, one-on-one session with one of our instructors. Spend a Saturday at the Canadian School of Lutherie shop covering as much guitar building and repair information that we can squeeze into a day. Work on an instrument supplied by us, or bring one of your own and learn the proper techniques for setting up and maintaining your string instrument.
One day - $200 +hst Two day - $350 + hst
Tuition for the one day course must be paid in full in order to finalize registration. If for some reason you register and can't attend, you have until 48 hours before the course to be reimbursed less a $30 registration fee.
One Week Repair Course
This is a great option for touring musicians, collectors and people who own multiple instruments. Repairing your own instruments is not only gratifying, it will save you money. Choose from a list of topics that best suit your needs. We recommend that people looking to enrol in this course choose 3 topics to start and if time permits, more can be covered. If what your looking for is not on the list just let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Two Week Electric Build
In this course, students construct a solid body tele style guitar with a bolt on neck from scratch. The student has the option to finish the guitar with polymerized oil or leave the guitar unfinished so they can apply the finish of their choice.
* Some other body styles will be considered upon request.

Four Week Course
A basic hands-on course for beginning instrument makers where students build a steel-string acoustic guitar or a custom electric guitar starting with the raw materials. All the techniques will be taught for making one guitar, as well as some basic repair and setup techniques. At the end of four weeks, students have a perfectly setup and playable instrument that is ready for finish. Some of the topics covered in the Four Week Course include
soundboard and back bracing
bending the sides
and carving the neck.
Students have the option to finish the project with polymerized oil or leave the guitar unfinished so they can apply the finish of their choice.
$2500 + tax
Eight Week Course
In the eight week acoustic / classical guitar course the student can either build one custom acoustic or classical guitar, build a standard acoustic guitar and a standard electric guitar, or a combination of building and repair techniques. If the student desires, they are welcome to build the jigs, templates and molds used in the construction of their projects. These are the students to take with them if they wish.
