A basic hands-on course for beginning instrument makers where students build a classical or steel-string acoustic guitar starting with the raw materials. All the techniques will be taught for making one guitar, as well as some basic repair and setup techniques. At the end of four weeks, students have a perfectly setup and playable instrument that is ready for finish. Some of the topics covered in the Four Week Course include

• wood selection
• soundboard and back bracing
  
• bending the sides
• and carving the neck.
  

Students will also receive instruction on the french polish finishing technique so they can apply a finish to their guitar at home.
